Hedlund Design Group, LLC is a landscape architecture and planning firm based in Arlington, Massachusetts and led by Peter Hedlund.  

Our firm provides integrated landscape architecture and planning designs to create beautiful, practical, and lasting environments. For each project Peter listens carefully to the client and brings the best talent and experience to the table.  

We develop close partnerships with engineers, local public agencies, and architects and use these relationships to inform projects. We offer the experience of a large firm but deliver a tailored personal approach for every job.    

We believe that all designs must be understood within a larger context and all plans must be achievable - we plan to build.

Peter Hedlund, Principal

Peter has 23 years of experience as a landscape architect and planner, including eight years as Principal of Hedlund Design Group. Prior to founding Hedlund Design Group, Peter was a principal and head of the landscape architecture studio at Sasaki Associates, where he worked for 14 years.

Peter’s work includes award-winning master planning, landscape design and built work for public, educational, and residential landscapes. He brings to each project a passion for innovative master planning that leads to vibrant and sustainable built landscape spaces.  

He has a Master of Landscape Architecture, a Master of City and Regional Planning, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Cornell University, and uses this interdisciplinary background to create an integrated approach for all projects.
