Clemson University

Core Campus

This project fundamentally reshapes the core of Clemson's campus with a 700-bed residence hall with a new dining facility and Honors College.

The landscape mitigates this 260,000 sf building with a new pedestrian boulevard that shapes a series of shaded courtyards and stepped terraces.

Peter Hedlund was the Principal Landscape Architect for this project while at Sasaki.

Location:  Clemson, SC

Date:  2012-2014

Team:  Sasaki, VMDO Architects, Stevens and Wilkinson

“The overall plan fits very well with the Campus Master Plan, and has embellished it in way that we could never have otherwise articulated. The program was very challenging, but through innovative problem solving and tireless interaction, the team has taken the complex goals of the University and has fashioned a vision that has taken root.”
