Prospect Hill Park
LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Hedlund Design Group was selected in 2018 for the landscape design of Prospect Hill Park in Waltham, MA.
Prospect Hill Park is a 280 acre park surrounding a central peak with commanding views over downtown Boston. The park was created in the 1890s when the City of Waltham began acquiring land surrounding Prospect Hill for preservation as a public open space.
Site improvements include a new playground, spray park, traffic and pedestrian improvements, and a large outdoor pavilion. Hedlund Design Group teamed with Horsley Witten Group who provided site engineering, stormwater management, surveying and permitting expertise. The project was completed in November 2021.

“I wanted to thank you for making the base area of Prospect Hill Park so nice.
On the permitting side, I really appreciated your attention to detail around the stream. It's been just as enjoyable now to experience it as a regular resident, with my family. I've been there twice with my toddler since it reopened, and we really like the playground and sledding hill. Thanks again for making such a lovely space for the people of Waltham!”
