Sage School

CAMPUS MASTER PLAN
 

In the fall of 2017 Hedlund Design Group was asked to join Big Bend Studio to develop a campus master plan for the Sage School for gifted students in Foxborough, MA.

The driver for the master plan included a building addition to support the school’s STEAM initiative, known as the GIFTED Lab. After several alternatives were studied, the new GIFTED Lab was sited to anchor the south entry to campus and create a new sense of arrival. The addition also frames an existing woodland and encourages connections to the outdoors with a sequence of porches and decks that can be used for outdoor learning.

This project was led by Big Bend Studio with Peter Hedlund of Hedlund Design Group as principal landscape architect.
